Standing
Valves
are normally used in intermitting or chamber lift wells in the
bottom of the tubing
or chamber. The standing valve seals the nipple bore to
prevent the fluid from flowing back into well bore when high
pressure gas is injected under a slug of fluid. This valve can be
equalized or retrieved by wireline. This valve may also be used as
a test plug for testing tubing for pressure leakage above the
valve.
